Abstract

Introduction. The article addresses the issue of developing personal life competence through narrative practices. The war in Ukraine, which has become a real test for the country's population, has revealed new aspects of the necessity to develop life competence as one of the key factors for survival and adaptation in crisis situations. An important tool in this process is the narrative, which allows the individual to construct and reconstruct their own life experience, finding meaning in the events that occur and forming behavior strategies aimed at achieving desired outcomes. However, despite the relevance and social significance of this issue, in psychological science, the question of developing life competence through narrative practices remains underexplored. This hinders the development of narrative technologies for solving life problems, strengthening psychological resilience, enhancing the level of reflection, and developing adaptive personal strategies during the war. Purpose: To characterize the narrative model of developing life competence of an individual in the conditions of the war in Ukraine. Methods: Analysis of psychological literature related to the research problems; comparison, generalization, and interpretation of conceptual positions in narrative psychology; modeling as a method for constructing and analyzing the narrative technology of personal experience construction "Key Personal Questions" within the main narrative practices for developing an individual's life competence. Originality. The scientific novelty of the research results lies in the construction of a narrative model for the development of an individual's life competence and, based on it, the development of a narrative technology for experience construction. This technology is based on a series of personal questions, each of which stimulates the process of self-reflection and the construction of life stories within the main narrative practices for developing life competence. The proposed narrative tools for developing life competence create a foundation for further scientific and methodological developments aimed at providing psychological support for individuals in various fields of social practice: education, psychological counseling, social work, and especially in the psychological rehabilitation of military personnel. This will facilitate the constructive rethinking of the traumatic events of the war. Conclusion. In wartime conditions, the issue of developing life competence becomes particularly relevant. The narrative approach allows for the effective construction and reconstruction of one's own life experience, finding meaning in the events that occur, and forming behavior strategies aimed at achieving desired outcomes. The proposed narrative model for developing life competence facilitates the development of adaptive behavioral strategies in wartime conditions. This helps individuals act more effectively in critical circumstances, maintain inner integrity and motivation, and promotes the development of psychological resilience, self-awareness, and self-regulation as key aspects of survival and adaptation in prolonged psychologically traumatic life situations during the war. The author's narrative technology for constructing personal experience is a powerful tool for supporting mental health and personal development in crisis situations during the war in Ukraine. In this, we see the prospects for further research on the problem.
