Abstract
The purpose of the article is to study the psychological features of adaptation of vocational training students to the new conditions of the educational process. The results of the study of applicants according to R. Kettel's questionnaire indicate that their emotional and volitional characteristics are the result of a complex combination of various personal traits, according to the questionnaire of K. Thomas, the highest inclination to the «Competition» strategy was shown by the applicants of the «Publishing and printing» specialty, the «Cooperation" strategy» - specialties «Hairdressing and decorative cosmetics», strategy «Compromise» - specialties «Information, library and archival affairs» and «Hairdressing and decorative cosmetics», strategy «Adaptation» - specialties «Publishing and printing» and «Technologies of light industry», the «Avoidance» strategy is almost not expressed. The results of the psychological survey by T. Leary indicate that the majority of applicants of the specialty «Information, library and archival affairs» showed a tendency to suspicious and submissive-shy relationships, the specialty «Publishing and printing» - to authoritarian and friendly relationships, the specialty «Hairdressing and decorative cosmetics» - to dependent and altruistic relationships, «Light Industry Technologies» specialty - to selfish and friendly relationships. The presented results indicate a fairly successful adaptation of first-year students to the conditions of the educational environment. These results stem from the statement that most respondents mostly never experience conflict situations, do not feel lonely, and only sometimes note inner tension and fear of teachers. A preventive program aimed at ensuring psychological comfort and successful adaptation of FPO applicants, developing adaptation skills, stress management, increasing self-esteem and a positive attitude to learning has been developed.
