Abstract

The model mathematics curriculum for grades 5-10 of basic secondary education is aimed at the formation of mathematical competence, development of students' personality and preparation for successful educational and social and labor activity. The program emphasizes the importance of assimilating the knowledge system, developing thinking, speech and practical skills, and correcting cognitive activity. The basic principles include personality-oriented, activity-based, competence-based and communicative approaches. Special attention is paid to the adaptation of learning for students with intellectual developmental disorders, providing an individualized approach and special pedagogical guidance. Teaching is based on correctional and developmental orientation, differentiated approach and the pedagogical strategy of “anticipatory learning”. The program emphasizes the importance of constant repetition and consolidation of knowledge for effective learning.
