Abstract

The article analyzes the results of the study of resilience and its importance for the mental health of adolescents. A structural model of adolescent resilience as a factor in the preservation of mental health is presented. To determine resilience, the following instruments were used: self-determination test; K. Riffe's psychological well-being scale; D. Crumbo and L. Maholik's methodology for studying meaningful life orientations; E. Shostrom's self-actualization test; the scale of general self-efficacy; S. Muddy's resilience test. The study involved 75 adolescents. It has been found that the most accurate value of the indicator of adolescent hardiness is predicted by a model that includes the following indicators: self-efficacy, autonomy, goals in life, meaningfulness of life. It was found that the indicator “goals in life” has the greatest influence on adolescents' hardiness. A high level of adolescent hardiness helps to reduce the manifestations of depression; reduce post-traumatic stress; improve communication skills; develops self-confidence, which contributes to mental health.
