Abstract
A syllabus is an experimental development of a course that presents the theoretical and methodological foundations of the socio-psychological analysis of the process of creating a nation as one of the most powerful forms of organizing the common life of people in the contemporary world. The aim of the course is to provide future psychologists with knowledge of theoretical foundations, methodological principles and provisions of the social psychology of the nation; to develop in them the skills and abilities of social and psychological research of the problems of the nation. The course syllabus is intended to serve as a guide for students and will allow them to deepen knowledge of the theoretical and methodological foundations of studying the nation-building process in the social, humanitarian and cultural-historical fields. This will also allow updating knowledge from the courses “Ethnopsychology”, “Social Psychology”, “Political Psychology” on the specifics of the nation-building process, research approaches to the study of relevant socio-psychological phenomena, as well as on the specifics of the formation and development of the forms of socio-psychological thinking, their nation-building and conflict-generating potential. A course syllabus is intended for students of higher education institutions. Its introduction into the educational process will contribute to the formation of scientific ideas among future psychologists about the socio-psychological essence of such phenomena as “nation”, “nation-building”; the ability to theoretically and methodologically analyze the socio-psychological aspects of a given problem area; developing their nation-building motivation and readiness for nation-building activities.
