Abstract

The article raises the issue of criteria for selecting geographic educational information for a model curriculum. Its influence on the formation of geographical competences among high school students is explained. The author of the article analyses the existing studies related to the selection of geographic information for its use in the institution of general secondary education, thus concluding that this problem is relevant. At the same time, the selection and construction of geographical content in modern conditions as a complex scientific-methodical problem is new in the teaching methodology of geography.
