Abstract

The importance of environmental education as a tool for the formation of environmental awareness and behavior of younger schoolchildren is described. The results of a survey of teachers regarding the state of environmental education in Ukraine were analyzed, and opportunities for its improvement were identified. The main emphasis is on the importance of practical classes and the integration of environmental topics into the educational process. It was concluded that school environmental education is an important component for the development of children's environmental awareness.
