Abstract
It was established that civic competence is a multifaceted concept, the essence of which is not the accumulation of normatively defined knowledge, abilities and skills, but the formation of those who study, the readiness and ability to use сitizenship knowledge and skills, values and attitudes to solve practical problems, evaluation events, phenomena, processes in social and public life and to consciously and actively act from these positions. It is summarized that civic competence covers the knowledge and skills of students, the concepts and procedures they have mastered as a result of training, adequate situational behavior, the ability to perform specific actions, express a personal worldview, provide an appropriate assessment of facts, events, etc.
