Abstract
The article outlines the main theoretical perspectives on tutoring in higher education institutions. It identifies tutoring as an essential component and a demand of our time. In the international educational environment, tutoring is a common practice. The practice of tutoring is also being actively implemented in schools. However, in higher education institutions, the introduction of this work experience encounters certain challenges, most of which are related to the funding of this type of teaching activity. The article highlights the primary roles of tutoring in higher education institutions. Universities are focused on a personalized approach to each student, aiming to develop an individual learning trajectory. In today's conditions, where the information space is oversaturated; where knowledge and experience are often devalued; students may lose motivation to learn and interest in their own development and improvement. Having a mentor-teacher with psychological knowledge and skills can help re-engage the student, reinforce their knowledge, and guide them on relevant developmental paths.
