Abstract
The theses highlight the process of forming intercultural competence in the process of implementing the model of multilingual education. Intercultural competence is considered as a component of multilingual competence. Intercultural competence is defined as an individual's ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret the facts of different cultures, to adequately perceive and understand representatives of one's own and other cultures, and to interact tolerantly with them. The theses also define the basis of skills that determine the formation of intercultural competence of students of general secondary education institutions. It was concluded that in the process of multilingual education, a person is involved in the dimensions of different cultures, an idea is formed about national and cultural diversity, the uniqueness and value of each culture, readiness for conflict-free communication with representatives of different national and cultural communities.
