Abstract

The article addresses the specifics of developing the physics course at both the basic and profile levels within the framework of the New Ukrainian School. It discusses conceptual approaches to structuring and content of physics education at the basic level, as well as the peculiarities and models of its implementation in educational practice. Additionally, it covers the development of a modern physics textbook for gymnasiums that aligns with the requirements of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education and the model curricula based on it, set to be introduced in the 2024-2025 academic year. The article also analyzes international experiences in the functioning of a profile school and the implementation specifics of the physical component within the natural sciences education at the profile education level. It emphasizes the necessity of didactic-methodological justification of the procedures for forming educational profiles, the content, and the scope of components, including physics modules, for profile and general education preparation. Furthermore, the article outlines approaches to specifying key content lines of the in-depth and basic levels of profile physics education and the features of their didactic support, along with mandatory learning outcomes in physics and assessment criteria. The article identifies the prospects for developing the physics course at the profile level as a second concentration within the complete general secondary education, which in interrelation with the basic course forms a spiral-concentric system of school physics education, discussing its advantages and the practical challenges of implementation.
