Abstract

Urgency of the research. Current research shows the human need for happiness, which is now being used as a tool for measuring progress of mankind. Happiness is connected to the realisation of human potential, therefore, practically all professionals whose work is related to the inner life of human beings, its course and processes are involved in the problem of highlighting the ways to achieve it. Target setting. The methodological assertion of the importance of happy preschool childhood - as one of the values of modern preschool education - is contained in the Basic Component of Preschool Education. However, the categories, theories, principles that have a purpose - the realisation of the objective - are not revealed. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. In pedagogical research, the category "happiness" is studied through the prism of such concepts as "happiness as a pedagogical category", "position of a happy person", "pedagogical happiness", "happy educa-tor", "happy child". Happiness is explored by O. Abramenko, L. Varava, V. Nisner, A. Pavlov, T. Uvarova, N. Shchurkova. The research objective. The category of happiness is defined as a pedagogical category. At the same time, a key specialised concept has not been defined that captures the essential, significant features of an objective description of reality that meets the requirements for a happy preschool childhood. The statement of basic material. The structural components of adult happiness are identified and specific differences between their manifestation in infants and preschool children are identified. Parents' answers to the questionnaire "When does your child feel happy?" and children's answers and drawings were analysed. The article defines the concept of "happy preschool childhood" and indicates the phenomenon of preschool child happiness, pedagogical conditions of organization of a happy course of life activity of a child in an preschool education institution. Conclusions. In Ukraine, a happy preschool period is ensured at the legal and legislative level. The state guarantees the implementation of the child's rights and freedoms and ensures the conditions for his or her vitality and growth in the family. A happy preschooler's life is possible and achievable through the targeted and combined efforts of parents and teachers. A child's happiness in the family and in the pre-school institution during the day is possible if a combination of psychological and pedagogical conditions and the phenomenon of the pre-school child's happiness is taken into account.
