Abstract

The article reveals the essence of the process of formation of professional competencies of educational leaders during their higher education under the educational program "Educational Institution Management" at the Belotserk Institute of Continuing Professional Education. The analysis of the labor market regarding the number of actual vacancies for the positions of educational managers (directors and their deputies of institutions of preschool, after-school, general secondary education, professional (vocational and technical), professional pre-higher and higher education) indicates their insignificant number, but the analysis of the labor market also provides analysis of potential positions that are not yet vacant, but may become vacant. For this purpose, the number of positions of directors and their deputies of preschool, after-school, general secondary education, professional (vocational-technical), professional pre-university, postgraduate and higher education institutions was analyzed according to the data of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It was found that the total number of potential vacancies for educational managers in the system of the Ministries of Education and Science of Ukraine is more than 61,000, so there is a need for their training in higher education institutions. Pedagogical aspects of the formation of their leadership competencies during the educational process are outlined. It was determined that the purpose of the educational program "Educational Institution Management" at the Belotserk Institute of Continuing Professional Education is to train new generation education managers who will be able to successfully manage the educational process in the conditions of a modern educational environment. It includes such components as: theoretical knowledge of management, the ability to analyze and make decisions, communication skills, knowledge of modern management technologies and educational innovations. It was concluded that favorable psychological and pedagogical conditions have been created at the Belotserk Institute of Continuing Professional Education, which allow forming the personality of educational leaders capable of moving in the direction of dynamic and rapid changes in the field of education.
