Abstract
For many years, the name of a talented practitioner, a brilliant theorist, a skillful organizer of education, the developer of an original method of teaching children with vision and hearing loss, the author of many scientific works and a number of inventions in deaf and hard of hearing technology, Ivan Sokolyansky, was erased from the history of Ukrainian special pedagogy. Today, the modern theory and practice of working with deaf-blind children discovers this great man with a complex destiny in a new way, based on the works and achievements of an outstanding world-class Ukrainian scientist.
