Abstract

During the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, many people - not only military but also civilians - were seriously injured. Some of them need robotic prostheses or implants to function normally in society. These people, whom we call cyborgs (from the combination of two words - “cybernetic” and “organism”), have lost part of their physical body, but have not lost the strength of their spirit, dreams and hopes. They undergo a long and complex rehabilitation process in order to lead an active and fulfilling life using new technologies and prostheses. The purpose of these materials is to provide information and practical recommendations on how to explain to children who cyborgs are and what an important role they play in Ukrainian society.
