Abstract

In the conditions of an increase in the number of military personnel as result of the Russian-Ukrainian war, in the future there is a need for qualified personnel who will provide high-quality and effective assistance. Thus, in the conditions of full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, the pedagogical science of Ukraine faces the challenge of preparing specialists who will be ready to work with veterans of military service so that their adaptation process is effective and that veterans can return to civilian life as comfortably as possible. The question of the readiness of social pedagogues to work with veterans of military service has not been widely studied in pedagogical science, since this term is at the intersection of the following concepts: the readiness of social pedagogues and work with veterans of military service. There are plenty of studies devoted to these terms, so the main goal is to define the definition of «readiness of social pedagogues to work with veterans of military service». The author analyzed in detail various scientific approaches to determining readiness and found that it is a multidimensional concept that includes theoretical knowledge, practical skills, motivational and personal components. To define the readiness of social educators, the necessary skills and knowledge required for working and adapting with military service veterans were integrated. Thus, the concept of social educators' readiness to work with veterans was defined. The main focus is on the need for a systematic approach to education, which ensures the development of all aspects of readiness. This includes training to understand military culture, providing psychological assistance, as well as the development and implementation of social adaptation programs. Also considered are the legislative aspects of the training of social pedagogues, which allow to ensure the proper level of professional competences in accordance with modern requirements.
