Abstract
The article provides a structural-system analysis of the use of neural networks in the process of formation of senior students’ environmental competence. To implement the goal, a number of tasks are defined: 1. To characterize directions of using neural networks, allocated by foreign scientists, in the educational process. 2. To analyze possibilities of using neural networks in the process of formation of senior students’ environmental competence. 3. To give examples of using AI services to form senior students’ environmental competence. To implement the goal, conceptual-categorical apparatus of research is disclosed, in particular the concepts of «artificial intelligence,» «neural networks,» «prompt engineering,» etc. The term «senior students’ environmental competence» is identified with integrated characteristic of an individual, which determines his ability to understand and solve environmental problems, make environmentally sound decisions and take an active part in environmental activities. AI services that can be useful for increasing senior students’ environmental competence, neural networks: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gamma App were analyzed through interpretation of definitions, features, and possibilities. Examples of using AI services to form senior students’ environmental competence in terms of their involvement in activities to overcome the environmental consequences of war are given. Practical cases of using the capabilities of neural networks are proposed: creation of individualized curricula, including personalized curricula that take into account each student’s individual needs and level of knowledge; use of neural networks for automatic assessment of students' knowledge, which reduces the burden on teachers and ensures objectivity of assessments; developing interactive learning materials such as videos, animations and virtual labs to help senior students better understand complex environmental concepts.
