Abstract

The article provides a theoretical and methodological analysis of supervision as a modern educational phenomenon in the context of reforming general secondary education. Conceptual and categorical apparatus of the research was defined, in particular, the terms "supervision", "supervisor", "verification of supervision results" were studied. It is noted that the term "supervision" is used to describe a set of measures to provide professional support and assistance to pedagogical workers, which will contribute to the improvement of their professional activity and professional development. It was found out that the purpose of supervision is to provide psychological-pedagogical and methodical support of teaching staff aimed at increasing their efficiency in the educational process, solving their own professional difficulties, forming professional-pedagogical competence, carrying out professional and personal development and providing assistance to others. Functions, principles, and forms of supervision were analyzed and identified, tasks and stages of its progress were defined. Main tasks of supervision with promotion of compliance with the professional standard of pedagogical employees are defined and identified; professional consulting (assistance) of PE after receiving the results of their professional activity analysis; professional help in preventing (warning) and overcoming production difficulties; performing analysis and objective assessment according to the results of solving problematic professional situations; help in establishing individual special needs of PE and motivation for professional development. A professiogram of a supervisor in postgraduate pedagogical education was created with a description of professional training features, system qualities conceptualization , knowledge, skills, abilities, formation, readiness, responsibility and compliance in the synergy of formation and development. An analysis of legislative and regulatory documentation regarding the types of competence of supervisors of educational institutions (general, professional (subject-oriented)) was carried out, a number of types of personal and professional competences of representatives of this pedagogical profession were distinguished. The definition of supervisor’s "professional scientific and methodological competence" was formulated.
