Abstract

The monograph was prepared by the author's team of the University-Society Interaction Department of the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine based on the results of the scientific study "Policy and mechanisms for the implementation of social responsibility of Ukrainian universities in the conditions of war and during the post-war reconstruction of the country" (2021-2023). The strengthening of the social responsibility of universities in the conditions of the knowledge society during the martial law and post-war reconstruction is substantiated; the key directions of the implementation of social responsibility of universities are outlined; the concept of university policy of social responsibility, supplemented by the mechanism of its implementation, is proposed; the results of the sociological survey "Social responsibility in higher education institutions of Ukraine: state and peculiarities of implementation in the conditions of war and post-war recovery" are presented; views and attitudes towards social responsibility of students, staff and management of higher education institutions are summarized. A lot of factual material, examples of the implementation of social responsibility by universities of Ukraine and the world are given. For scientific and pedagogical workers, experts, researchers of higher education, heads of higher education institutions, students and other persons interested in the modernization of higher education, strengthening the social role of universities, involvement of civil society in the implementation of structural reforms, deep structural transformations in the field of higher education.
