Abstract
The article updates the problem of structuring textbooks on technologies for pupils of basic secondary education based on the method of formative assessment. Attention is focused on the importance of formative assessment for the development of key and branch competencies in the process of learning technologies. The scientific basis for the development of formative assessment methods within the technological educational field of basic secondary education is clarified. The concept of "formative assessment" and its main characteristics have been clarified in view of the process of learning technologies. The purpose and functions of formative, current and final assessment in accordance with the requirements of the new standard have been clarified. The method of formative assessment was developed as a basis for structuring textbooks according to the model curriculum "Technologies. 7–9 grades" by Tetyana Machacha. The expediency of the didactic structuring of the technology textbook by modules based on the concept of the cultural content of technological education is substantiated. The structural components of the modules as separate content units of technology textbooks based on the formative assessment method are defined and described. The formative function of the final assessment has been clarified.
