Abstract

The analytical report highlights the genesis and evolution of key concepts of university social responsibility and defines its major standards. It presents the results of sociological survey entitled “Social responsibility in higher education institutions of Ukraine” conducted at Ukrainian HEIs between 28.04.2023 and 15.05.2023, where 2250 respondents participated. The target group of the survey were top and mid-level HEI managers, academic staff, researchers, PhD, master and bachelor students and students at Ukrainian universities. The data presented reflect the current state of university social responsibility and its perception by Ukrainian HEIs, reveal the specificity of its implementation under wartime and outline the perspectives of university social responsibility as an enabler contributing to postwar revival. The survey was implemented within the framework of research project «Policy and mechanisms of university social responsibility implementation in Ukraine during wartime and postwar recovery» undertaken by University – Community Engagement Unit of the Institute of Higher Education NAES of Ukraine (state registration number № 0122U200776). The report will be useful for administrative staff, academic personnel and researchers, learners, representatives of public bodies and local self-governments, business and civic organizations interested in the development of university social responsibility in cooperation with HEIs.
