Abstract

Reforming modern education involves the acquisition of key life competencies by its students. The choice of profession is one of the leading needs of adolescence and occurs in the presence of the main psychological formations of the personality at this stage: personal, social, and professional self-determination. Ideally, this choice should be made independently, consciously, and carefully, taking into account knowledge of one's own psychological characteristics and potential capabilities, focusing on the strengths of one's personality and the needs of the modern labor market. This study analyzes the impact of the labor market situation on the professional self-determination of students. The essence of the choice of profession, which is one of the leading needs of adolescence and occurs in the presence of the main psychological formations of the personality at this stage: personal, social, and professional self-determination, is revealed.
