Abstract
The purpose of the research is the analysis of scientific and methodical work in the lyceum. We believe that the development of a philologist's research competence depends on effectively organized scientific and methodological work. We define its directions. We connect the development of the investigated competence with the professional development of the philologist, who is aware of the special role as a bearer of national values and the need to increase the level of his competence on the basis of research.
