Abstract

The theses draw attention to people-centrism as one of the conditions for preserving the state's competitiveness in the difficult conditions of war through the high-quality training of highly qualified specialists who will be motivated to work for the good of society and rebuild the destroyed economy. It is mentioned that modern education is aimed at training professionals capable of performing complex intellectual and creative work, while monotonous, simple and voluminous work is now performed by machines. The human resource that exists on the territory of each state is its most valuable resource. Intellectual work determines how efficiently other resources will be used. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the connection between the education system and trends in the labor market, their mutual correspondence. The thesis briefly rejects the myth of overpopulation of the planet. The economy of knowledge is mentioned, what it studies, and some statements from this science are given, which relate to modern trends in the labor market and professional education. It is mentioned that trends also include interdisciplinarity, which previously received insufficient attention. The trends also include: computer programs that calculate the use of resources with maximum benefit, the growth of the value of intangible assets and the ability of professionals to adapt to changes with great speed. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is mentioned and how machines are replacing human labor and what consequences this may have for each of us. Some skills may belong only to brain activity and cannot be replaced by a machine.
