Abstract

The concept of culture is defined as the context within which human identities are formed. Two main functions of culture are singled out: heredity and normative. Cultural identification is defined as the process of self-identification of an individual with a certain culture, which involves a rational awareness of one's involvement in an ethno-cultural group and an emotional and valuable experience of belonging to it. The challenges caused by the full-scale war and migration processes in Ukraine, which relate to the regional characteristics of the identification of modern youth, are visualized. A hypothesis was put forward about the intensification of the processes of national, civil and cultural identification during the war against the background of the leveling of regional differentiating features.
