Abstract

The concept of culture as a context within which human identities are formed and constructed is considered. Two main functions of culture are singled out: heredity and normative. The definition of cultural identity is given as self-identification with a certain cultural one, which involves a person's rational awareness of belonging to an ethno-cultural group, acceptance of its norms, values, patterns of behavior, etc., and emotional and valuable experience of belonging to it. The challenges caused by the full-scale war and migration processes in Ukraine, which relate to the regional characteristics of the identification of modern youth, are visualized.
