Abstract
Taking into account the fact that, according to normative documents, students of the ninth grade of general educational institutions must clearly determine their further educational trajectory, the problem of updating school career guidance as a powerful means of personal support at the stage of profile and professional self-determination is being activated in the educational process. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the relevance of career orientation support for students in the conditions of reforming the senior professional school. To realize the goal of the article, the contradictions of students' profile self-determination are singled out, the role of vocational guidance in shaping students' readiness for profile and professional self-determination is outlined. It was determined that the most expedient form of career guidance in conditions of limited access to career guidance services is career guidance of students. It is emphasized that scientifically based, targeted, accessible career guidance support for students at all stages of education in general secondary education institutions, in accordance with age characteristics and individual needs, will directly affectthe effectiveness of the New Ukrainian School reform in senior specialized schools.
