Abstract
The problem of helping soldiers overcome the negative psychological consequences of excessive combat stress is extremely relevant in times of war. In Ukraine, this problem is exacerbated both by the lack of efficiency in the provision of psychological services (the system of psychological services is still in its infancy) and by certain cultural peculiarities, when the population does not have a positive experience of professional psychological assistance. In recent years, society, the leadership of law enforcement agencies, and the professional psychological community have been mobilizing all possible resources and attracting international assistance to address the problem of PTSD among combatants. One of the most significant problems today is the low level of requests for psychological help, which leads not only to an increase in the level of comorbid disorders among soldiers (alcoholism, anxiety, depressive disorders), but also worsens the family situation, in particular, negatively affects the development of children. Unfortunately, the issue of secondary trauma of family members of soldiers, in particular the development of children in families of soldiers, is not yet in the same focus of attention of domestic specialists and society as a whole.
