Abstract

The theses examine the essence of the concepts of "reading comprehension" and "reading literacy". State educational documents in which they are represented were analyzed. It was concluded that "reading comprehension" is narrower the concept of "reading literacy", which is essentially key competence, and reading comprehension is one of her skills. "Reading with understanding" in interaction with other end-to-end competences is the basis for the formation of a competent reader.
