Abstract
It has been established that research into ways of implementing the principle of applied orientation of school science education is carried out in the following directions: 1) assimilation of applied educational material, based on which ideas about the practical orientation of natural science knowledge are formed; 2) development of didactic support for the acquisition of practical skills. In the course of the pedagogical experiment, it was found that students do not remember the technical objects described in the textbooks, they are not sufficiently aware of natural knowledge as a basis for solving professional and everyday problems. It is obvious that the search for new ways of implementing the principle of applied orientation is promising. The researchers propose to implement it in the following sequence: 1) consider the evolution of the content of the principle of applied orientation, which occurs with the change of socio-economic formations; 2) formulate the theoretical idea of the research - the problem of implementing this principle can be solved if the learning goals are presented in the form of a system of applied tasks, methods and methods of their solution; 3) based on the proposed idea, develop a model of the educational process in institutions of general secondary education; 4) verify the possibility of practical implementation of the educational process built according to the developed model.
