Abstract

The article provides a brief retrospective overview of the formation of approaches to the organization of in-depth (professional) training in law in Ukraine, in particular to the selection and structuring of the relevant content. Based on the results of the analysis, the opinion was expressed that it is necessary to move away from the traditional school legal education system for Ukraine. As a result of the study of the Concept of the Development of Civic Education in Ukraine (2018) and the European experience of organizing students' assimilation of legal material in high school, the conclusion was formulated that the content modules of the legal direction should be integrated into the comprehensive program of the «Civic Education» course for grades 10-11 as a mandatory educational component.
