Abstract
The article reveals the relationship between the development of a teacher's emotional intelligence and his/her ability to create a safe educational environment for students. It is argued that teachers with this ability to monitor the pressure, pay attention to the needs of children, create an emotionally positive climate. At the same time, the article shows both the insufficient level of development of this personal formation among teachers and the lack of attention to this problem in the system of teacher training and retraining.
