Abstract

The author analyzes the content of the concept of «personal and professional development», by which the author understands a continuous process of personal changes aimed at achieving a high level of personal self-development and professional self-realization in pedagogical activity. It is noted that the basis ofprofessional development is personal self-development aimed at the formation of the creative individuality of the teacher. Attention is focused on the means and conditions of professional development of research and teaching staff in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education.
