Abstract

The theses examine the importance of obtaining education by citizens as a primary task of the functioning of state power in developed countries. The process of formation of the education system in different countries, which was quite long and unique, is characterized. Trends in the development of education systems in Western Europe, America, and other regions of the world are revealed. The task of ensuring the quality of higher education and the direction of the state's activity in the field of education have been determined. The further directions of the transformation of the state's policy on ensuring the quality of higher education in Ukraine have been determined.
