Abstract
Primary school students with impaired oral speech development, as well as pupils without impaired oral speech but with a peculiar development of written speech (dysgraphia, dysorphography), often experience considerable difficulties in mastering the spelling rules. The reason for these difficulties is that the child may not feel "doubt" when writing down one of the alternative pronunciations of words which correct spelling requires knowledge of the rule. The textbook presents exercises for mastering the most difficult spelling rules, taking into account the peculiarities of the development of children with speech deficits: the technology of forming "doubt" during the tasks is implemented, their psychological structure is taken into account, the complication of which occurs gradually and in a dosed manner; conditions are created for repeated repetition and consolidation of the same lexical units, as well as for getting acquainted with the rule through the tasks in which the leading level of organization of the activity is presented. The manual is useful for children with difficulties in mastering the spelling rules, their parents, speech and language therapists, teachers, teaching assistants, and all professionals who support children with special speech and language needs in the educational environment.
