Abstract
An effective tool for implementing the applied focus of science education is practice-oriented research tasks, as a rule, of interdisciplinary content, the solution of which contributes to the thorough mastery of natural science knowledge, comprehensive skills and attitudes. In school science education, tasks of applied content are used as a method of assimilation, consolidation, verification and control of theoretical knowledge, a means of acquiring practical skills (experimentation, construction, modeling), formation of competences, skills of professional self-determination, implementation of the principle of polytechnicism, ecological and economic education. Based on the analysis of the content of school science education, a classification of applied tasks was carried out: by content - concrete, abstract, interdisciplinary, competence-oriented, historical, thematic; didactic purposes - training, controlling, research, creative; by way of presentation of the condition – textual, graphic, task-pictures, task-experiments; level of complexity – simple, complex, combined; requirement – finding the unknown, proof, construction; the nature and method of research - computational, qualitative, experimental, research.
