Abstract

The paper presents the views and ideas of scholars and teachers of the Ukrainian diaspora on the concept of ideal, educational ideal, and national values. It is emphasized that the purpose of Ukrainian studies is, first of all, to form children's worldview with the help of values developed by the Ukrainian people over the centuries. It is concluded that the "educational ideal" in the diaspora is based on Christian values, instilling in children love and respect for the Ukrainian people, their culture, traditions, and Ukraine as the homeland of their fathers and grandfathers.
