Abstract
The article analyzes theoretical sources on the issue of psychological support for children with special needs in the context of crisis challenges. It is well-founded that extraordinary events have a powerful impact on the state of mental health of people affected by them. Often this influence reaches a pathogenic level and becomes the cause of the formation of social maladjustment, a number of mental and behavioral disorders, which include, in particular: acute reactions to stress, various adaptation and behavior disorders, persistent changes in the mental state of the individual, etc. In the writings of scientists on the study of the problem of social processes, the emphasis is on the emergence of new urgent difficulties and problems that both adults and children face during crisis situations. Changes at the social level are revealed due to violations of marital, parental and extramarital relations (communication with relatives, friends). The experience of scientists and practitioners testifies to the increase in cases of misunderstandings, conflicts, and domestic violence in families both during the unfolding of a crisis situation and after it ends. In such conditions, children with special needs do not receive proper special support, which negatively affects their development, inhibiting the success of the rehabilitation process.
