Abstract
The article reveals thinking, feeling and will as the foundations of professional development of the scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions. It is noted that there is an acute need for creative personalities, specialists, capable of solving complex problems of regional, state and planetary levels with the aim of ensuring social progress. It is emphasized that they are a strategic resource and wealth of Ukraine. It is noted that improving the efficiency of mental, emotional and volitional processes is important for the professional and personal development of the scientific and pedagogical worker, his lifelong learning, self-determination at age stages and successful activity. The most common problems and consequences associated with the degradation of the personality of the scientific and pedagogical worker due to the war of the russian federation against Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic are singled out. The essence, nature, forms, types and kinds of thinking, its influence on the development of the personality of the scientific and pedagogical employee are revealed. The essence of feelings as a component of the psychological sphere of personality of the scientific and pedagogical employee is revealed. Their origin, types and mechanisms of occurrence are indicated. It is emphasized that they help to evaluate reality, regulate emotional states, participate in management of other mental and physiological processes, form internal plan of actions, plan and program activity. The volitional qualities of the scientific and pedagogical worker are singled out. It is indicated that will is a complex and multifaceted mental process that includes various types, functions, features and structures of volitional actions. It is emphasized that it is formed as a result of learning and gaining experience, when the scientific and pedagogical worker is engaged in what requires his effort, self-control, perseverance and responsibility. Recommendations for the development of thinking, feelings and will of scientific and pedagogical workers have been developed.
