Abstract
The central concepts revealed in the article are: volunteering (volunteering), volunteer assistance, volunteer movement. The article identifies the main reasons why people start volunteering. The author provides a classification of volunteer activities (social volunteering, sports volunteering, art volunteering, environmental volunteering, donation, event volunteering, corporate volunteering, public safety volunteering, media volunteering). The article notes the need for professionalization of volunteer assistance when working with specific categories of social service users (people of a respectable age, people with special needs) and certification of volunteers in accordance with the requirements of the time. The author carries out a content analysis of the main volunteer resources in the information environment and singles out the following areas of activity of online platforms: assistance to the army; assistance to internally displaced persons and refugees; work with youth, children and teenagers; work to prevent domestic violence, human trafficking and gender discrimination; of a general educational and communication nature. The author identifies a lack of attention in digital content to the problems of elderly people and people with special needs. The article examines the main components of readiness to provide volunteer assistance to elderly people and people with special needs: motivational, cognitive, and functional. The author defines the main conceptual principles of creating a volunteer school for working with elderly people and people with special needs. The article provides an approximate program for training volunteers to work with elderly people and people with special needs.
