Abstract
The urgency of developing “green” professions in Ukraine within the context of global energy challenges is substantiated. It is identified that Ukraine has the potential to meet up to 50% of its energy needs from renewable sources. The legal and methodological foundations in the field of vocational training according to the National Qualifications System are explored. It is characterized that the lack of skilled personnel hinders the transition to a green economy. It is noted that within the framework of a national experiment, new professional standards and qualification characteristics have been developed. The necessity of consolidating efforts for the development of human capital and Ukraine’s energy renewal is emphasized. The results of the experiment have been implemented into Ukraine’s vocational education system. Specifically, new professions such as “Master of Installation and Maintenance of Renewable Energy Systems” and “Master of Installation, Maintenance, Repair, and Adjustment of Heat Pumps” have been developed. The growing demand for alternative heating systems and heat pumps is taken into account. The initiation of a professional standard serving as the basis for the development of educational programs is facilitated. The possibility of dual education and skill enhancement that meets labor market needs is ensured. The significance of vocational training for the labor market, particularly in the field of heat pump operation, is established. It is determined that educational modules that meet professional standards contribute to the socialization and adaptation of various population groups, including war veterans and displaced persons. The role of government structures, industrial enterprises, research institutions, and other stakeholders in the development of “green” professional qualifications is highlighted. The need for a comprehensive approach to the introduction of new qualifications for sustainable development and Ukraine’s economic recovery is emphasized. It is noted that the research results may be useful for shaping state policy in the field of vocational education and the labor market.
