Abstract
Based on the results of conducting and summarizing the ascertainment experiment, the main directions of updating and improving the reading activity of 3rd-4th grade students were identified along the following content lines of the Standard educational programs: "Getting to know the space of children's reading"; "Mastering the techniques of working with a children's book"; "We develop the skill of reading, master the techniques of reading comprehension"; "We study and interact with texts of various types."
