Abstract

The article describes the results of a thematic scientific study and the content of the monograph “Self-assessment of the quality of education and educational activities of an institution of general secondary education: organizational and methodological aspect.” The prerequisites for the transformation of systems for monitoring and evaluating the activities of secondary schools are revealed, and the theoretical foundations for self-assessment of the education quality and educational activities of a general education institution as a factor in its development are substantiated. Particular attention is paid to the results of an empirical study of the characteristics of the manifestation of certain elements of the culture of evaluation activities of school leaders. Using statistical analysis methods, it has been proven that there are features and differences in the perception of school principals and vice-principals regarding procedures for assessing various components of educational and management processes in educational institutions, which is of practical importance for ensuring the effective implementation of self-assessment of the education quality in secondary schools and the development of the content of advanced training programs for managers and teachers of educational institutions.
