Abstract
The article shows the relevance of implementing a competency paradigm aimed at developing key competencies in the training of skilled workers. The list of key competencies and content of restaurant service specialists-to-be; introduced into scientific use the term «key competencies in the field of restaurant service». The results of an experiment to implement pedagogical model and authoring methodology as to formation of key competencies of restaurant service specialists-to-be.
