Abstract

The article analyzes the methodological aspects of the empirical study of social and psychological adaptation of forced migrants. The content of the phenomenon of socio‐psychological adaptation is determined, which is defined as the process of active adaptation of the psyche and behavior of forced migrants to the conditions of the new socio‐cultural and socio‐psychological space of the host country, which is mediated by the features of this space, a number of mental and psychological features and which is influenced by a number of external and internal factors. The structure of socio‐psychological adaptation is determined, which is manifested in the interaction of three components: cognitive, affective and conative. The criteria of adaptability are summarized and highlighted, taking into account a sample of Ukrainians who were forced to migrate during the war to other countries of the world. Thus, the criteria for the development of the affective component of socio‐psychological adaptation are satisfaction with relations with other migrants, representatives of migration services and representatives of the country of migration; emotional comfort, satisfaction with the situation in the country. The criteria for the development of the cognitive component of socio‐psychological adaptation are the formation of ideas about the new socio‐cultural environment, the formation of a positive image of the country and its representatives, assimilation of new social norms and values, self‐actualization. The criteria for the development of the conative component are the adequacy of interaction by representatives of the new socio‐cultural environment, readiness for cooperation, internality, finding ways to solve problems that arise during migration. The diagnostic toolkit for the study of social and psychological adaptation of forced migrants was analyzed and it was concluded that, taking into account the defined content, structure and diagnostic criteria of social and psychological adaptation of forced migrants, it is necessary to develop new diagnostic methods and standardize existing methods in the Ukrainian language for the Ukrainian p 74 sample, in particular, this concerns methods of Rogers‐Diamond "Social‐psychological adaptation".
