Abstract
In the program, the author will touch on the problems of understanding emotional intelligence, its main components, the complexity and expediency of existence in the work programs of educators, psychologists, as a scientific and practical category. In one of the sections of the program, the peculiarities of psychological diagnosis of emotional intelligence of children of early and preschool age will be considered, since the process of determining the level of emotional intelligence is not an easy procedure for an adult, then at such an early age the task for practical psychologists becomes more complicated. This can be explained by the fact that emotional intelligence (*hereinafter - EQ) is an individual's ability to recognize emotions, desires, own intentions and the intentions of other people, as well as manage them and name them. It is the last points that are the most difficult for early and preschool age. A small child has learned to manage his biological sphere at a rather mediocre and primitive level, and the sphere of affects and emotions is much more complicated. This is an area that helps to manage behavior, make decisions, and take responsibility. People with a high level of EQ are characterized by such traits as self-discipline, responsibility, and the ability to adapt to new circumstances. That is why it is so important to develop the level of emotional intelligence not only in adults, but starting from childhood, so that with the process of growing up it is a natural process. For this, it is necessary to improve such skills as: self-awareness, empathy, social skills, motivation and others.
