Abstract

The article examines the question of the contribution of Academician Vyacheslav Vasyliovych to national and international special pedagogy and psychology. The main milestones of the academician's life and scientific-pedagogical path are analyzed. The role of the scientist in the development of the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is emphasized. The role of the dynasty of deaf educators of the Zasenki family in the formation of national defectology is emphasized. The achievements of the scientific school of the scientist are analyzed. Attention is focused on positive personal qualities of Professor V. Zasenko.
