Abstract
It was established that the selection and construction of the content of the «Law basics» curriculum (grade 9) is based on a natural-law type of legal understanding and axiological and human-oriented approaches, the implementation of which in the content of the program focuses on the rights of the child and their protection, on the rights of minors as participants different types of legal relations, as well as the relationship of rights and obligations and the conscious responsibility of minors for illegal behavior. It has been established that studying the issues of democracy, the rule of law, and the social purpose of the state contributes to the disclosure of the value potential of Ukraine as a democratic, legal and social state.
