Abstract
The applied orientation of school science education consists in directing the content, methods, means and forms of learning to the application of the laws of nature in industry, agriculture and technology. The results of experimental studies show that one of the ways to implement applied orientation is the construction of new generation school textbooks. A modern physics textbook from a medium of learning content, which reflects the basics of natural science at the appropriate educational and age level, turns into an effective tool for personality development, the formation of subject and key competencies. At various stages of textbook creation, the authors were guided by the principle of applied orientation of education when determining the content and developing the methodology for studying the school physics course.
