Abstract
The article substantiates the relevance of research on the content of innovative activity and innovative competence of managers (directors) of general secondary education institutions based on the analysis of regulatory and professional sources. The provisions of the Innovation Development Strategy for the period until 2030 regarding human capital as the basis of Ukrainian innovative competitiveness are highlighted. The views of modern scientists regarding the history of the emergence and changes in the interpretation of the essence of the concept of "innovation", the phenomenon of innovation, the innovative society in the socio‐philosophical discourse and the content of innovative activity are revealed. Regulatory acts and researchers' approaches to defining the essence of the concepts "innovation", "innovativeness", "innovative activity", "innovative project", "innovative activity in the field of education", "educational innovations" were analyzed. The issue of innovative competence of the head of a general secondary education institution is considered in the context of the legal, economic and organizational foundations of the state regulation of innovative activity in Ukraine based on the analysis of legal acts and scientific sources. The characteristics of the collective author's educational project "Scientific and practical studies "Methodology and practice of professional development of a modern education manager" in the system of postgraduate education of managers (directors) of general secondary education institutions in the context of the state professional standard "Manager (director) of a general secondary education institution". The possible effects of innovative activity from the application of project technology in an educational project are described. The need for a comprehensive, systematic study of the phenomenon of innovation in education, selection of classification features and further generalization of the content of research on the innovative m and ovement systematization of the o ta ned results b i is emphasized.
